Because we fought successfully to get those laws enacted in the first place. We are the same force behind Iowa Equality, instrumental in getting a Safe School law passed that includes sexual orientation and gender identity, getting the Iowa Civil Rights Act updated to include protection based on sexual orientation and gender identity in employment, union practices, housing, credit, education, and public accommodations, as well as achieving Marriage Equality in Iowa.
